Elementary Ballet

Ages 6-9

in Elementary Ballet we learn, through repetition, the basic positions and principles of ballet. Students begin work at the "barre" where we start with two hands on the barre to find the correct alignment of the body. Starting simple and slow with thorough explanation, imagery, and demonstration from teachers, we give students a complete understanding and the confidence to grow. As we build strength, we progress to more difficult and complex combinations of movement at the barre and across the room. We learn the preparations for advanced steps which will be taught in the next level. Classical ballet terminology is introduced and reinforced.
